    Distinguished school

    Trinidad “Trini” Garza Early College High School celebrated its designation as a National Title I Distinguished School (see photos).

    Addressing violence

    Students attended a forum to lead respectful conversations on how the district and greater community can address threats of gun violence in schools (watch a video).

    Political leaders

    Female students from four Dallas ISD schools saw their political ambitions ignite after attending the Young Women’s Political Leadership Conference (learn more).

    Hall of Fame

    Dr. Beverly Chinn from Wilmer-Hutchins High School was inducted into the National Association of Negro Musicians Dallas Chapter Hall of Fame (read this).

    Toyota tutors

    Students at J.N.Ervin Elementary School met their tutors from Toyota who will help them read through TutorMate (watch this).

    Boxing for gold

    Stephen Acosta, a Sunset High School senior, is training for a shot to box in the 2020 Summer Olympics (watch this).
