Counseling teams at seven schools receive Lone Star State Awards

The Lone Star State School Counseling Association recognized the counseling teams at seven Dallas ISD schools for excellence in advocacy, leadership, collaboration, and systemic change.

The Lone Star State Award recognizes effective and outstanding school counseling programs in the state of Texas. These Dallas ISD counseling teams earned the Lone Star State Award:

THE BRONZE AWARD – Silver Bound

Eduardo Mata Elementary School
Counselor – Sheila Gunter
Principal- Tomika Middleton-Williams

Elisha M. Pease Elementary School
Counselors- Kimberly Mitchell & Jennifer Brent
Principal- Jean McGill, Interim

Maria Moreno Elementary School
Counselor- Kailee Mitchell
Principal- Tammie Brooks

Martin Luther King Jr. Learning Center (Bronze Ready)
Counselor-  Denise Leffall
Principal- Gloria Kennedy

Thomas Tolbert Elementary School
Counselor-  Rashunda Mendy
Principal- LaKeisha Smith

THE SILVER AWARD – Gold Bound

Molina High School
