The start of school is just around the corner, which means back-to-school activities are ramping up.

From the start of online enrollment to the end of prestigious summer internships for students, this was another great week in Dallas ISD.

Online enrollment begins

Online enrollment opened this week, allowing most parents to enroll their children for school without standing in line or filling out paper forms. (Visit online enrollment homepage)

Big donation

Approximately 140 Dallas ISD teachers received more than $100,000 in materials and supplies for classroom enrichment projects thanks to DonorsChoose.org and a $1 million donation from Staples. (Read this)

Cover band concert

The Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts String Quartet joined two professional cover bands for a big concert at Arlington Music Hall. (Read this)

Kimball teacher receives award

Mary White, Kimball High School’s career and technology chair, received a national award for her work at the National Academy Foundation’s Next Conference in Orlando. (Read this)

Team-building cruise

The Billy Earl Dade math department enjoyed a math cruise as a team building exercise to prepare for the coming school year. (Read this)

Prestigious summer internships

About 100 Dallas ISD students enrolled in a NAF academy graduated from paid summer internships at prestigious companies, including Capital One. (Watch this)
