The dream of every parent to have their child attend a school that is tailored to their style of learning and is chosen by the parents themselves is becoming a reality in Dallas ISD.

They are being called Public School Choice Schools. Dallas ISD schools that give parents the option to choose a school for their child based on the quality of the school and the child’s need, rather than just having them go to a traditional neighborhood school.

Dallas ISD is seeking input from parents and community members through a survey as it explores opening 35 additional Public School Choice schools, in the same way Mata became a Montessori school. The video report below details the district’s plans for the future.
