Fitch Ratings recently upgraded the district’s underlying bond rating to AA+, while upgrading the district’s overall rating outlook from positive to stable. It’s a dream come true. The Sunset High School Bisonettes Drill Team’s will get an opportunity of a lifetime to perform in Honolulu, Hawaii during the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade on Dec. 7. As one of the district ‘s only traditional drill teams, that deliver high kicks in every performance, they are the only team from Texas to perform. They received a personal invitation by the parade’s performance director in a letter sent to Laura Cervera, the team’s sponsor. It’s #TBT time! If you don’t know that’s Throwback Thursday! For this weeks Throwback Thursday we dug in the boxes and found a group photo of the 2004 Teen School Board. The Dallas Teen School Board is a student advisory group consisting of the presidents of the junior and senior classes at each high school. The students meet monthly to discuss the issues and concerns of their schoolmates and present them to the superintendent of schools and the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees. Now fast forward 10 years today and see what’s happening with the 2014-2015 Teen School Board.
