Join us for the Dallas ISD Back to School Registration Event to get your child registered for the new school year! It all happens Saturday, August 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ellis Davis Field House, located at 9191 S. Polk St. Parents will receive in-person assistance with registration, for students enrolling in pre-K through 12th grade. Families of eligible students for the district’s Strive for No More than 5 attendance campaign will receive a School Messenger call on June 28 informing them of their eligibility to receive free tickets to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum tickets and Six Flags tickets. The “Strive For No More Than Five” campaign engages and challenges students and parents to commit to limiting absences to no more than five days for the school year. The use of artificial intelligence chatbots in education has been a hot topic in news headlines and at school board meetings across the United States. Participating in the 5th Annual Parrish Charitable Foundation Invitation, Dallas ISD students recently joined the discussion as they participated in the Debate Chamber at Old Parkland Complex. Through a partnership with entrepreneur Roland G. Dallas ISD Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde, Mayor Eric L. Johnson, and Junior League of Dallas President Christina N. Eubanks announced that the 27th Annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair will take place on Friday, August 4, inside the Automobile Building and Centennial Hall at Fair Park. The fair is a collaborative effort between Dallas ISD, the City of Dallas, nonprofits, corporations, and community volunteers.
