Two Seagoville High School juniors, Bryan Contrares and Cayro Bustos, scored top honors in the nation for their scores on the PSAT. Contrares and Bustos placed in the top 2.5 percent in the nation for PSAT Latino and Hispanic test-takers. Third-graders at Dallas ISD’s César Chávez Learning Center got to pick out a brand-new book of their very own on Wednesday, April 29. They chose between Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends or Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul to add to their personal libraries. The book donations are part of an effort by Ford Driving Dreams, Ford Motor Company Fund and North Texas Ford Dealers to donate 10,000 books to north Texas elementary school children in partnership with First Book, a nonprofit that provides books to low-income children.
