It took a few years to accomplish, but the installation of a Real School Garden at San Jacinto Elementary School will soon be a dream come true for Librarian Laurie Koppang, her colleagues and students. In October, student-athletes at Bryan Adams High School will attempt to raise $10,000 for the fight against childhood cancer. According to a statement from Go4theGoal’s Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer campaign, the high school is raising money at donate.go4thegoal.org/bryanadams. The school’s goal is to raise $10,000. Teams will also be wearing shoelaces during games that are gold, the color for childhood cancer awareness, during their games. September was Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
