0Dallas ISD is hosting the 2024 Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS) Annual Fall Conference from Oct. 16 to 20 at the Sheraton Hotel, bringing together over 1,000 big-city school leaders, board members, senior administrators, and educators from across the country. The event will feature more than 200 presentations covering a wide range of topics that impact urban school districts nationwide. Dallas ISD campus unveils new book vending machine
0Charles Rice Learning Center celebrated the unveiling of a new book vending machine, made possible through a partnership between the Dallas Stars Foundation and the Dallas Education Foundation. 0Daniel Poveda and Monica Garcia have dedicated their careers to serving the Dallas ISD community while bringing their rich cultural heritage into the classroom. Originally from Venezuela, the couple’s passion for teaching reflects their deep commitment to uplifting the next generation of students. Poveda has been with Dallas ISD for 16 years, first as a teacher and now working as an instructional specialist for emergent bilingual and immigrant students in the Dual Language ESL Department. Teacher exchange program duo embrace teaching and learning
0When husband and wife, Pere Valls and Laura Moreno, traveled from Spain to teach in the U.S., they brought global expertise to Chapel Hill Preparatory Academy and embarked on a journey where they would share new cultural experiences with their young children. “The idea is to go to a new country, learn, and bring that knowledge back home.
