0The 23rd-annual Mayor’s Back To School Fair will provide Dallas parents and children with everything they need for the first day of school. There will be several free services, including health checkups, dental and vision screenings, immunizations and haircuts. Approved Dallas ISD 2019–2020 budget includes $57.6 million in annual compensation raises
0The Dallas ISD 2019–2020 budget approved by trustees Thursday night includes approximately $57.6 million in annual compensation raises, which is notably higher than the raises required under House Bill 3. Nearly $33.6 million of the raises will go toward teachers and campus administrators under strategic compensation, while $6.7 million will be allocated for other campus-facing positions such as media specialists, non-TEI teachers, nurses and counselors. More than 400 students attend four-day cheer camp
0Sponsored by the Student Activities department, more than 400 cheerleaders from 21 Dallas ISD high schools participated in the second annual Dallas ISD Summer Cheer Camp at the Sprague Athletic Complex. Every high school cheer program was invited to attend the four-day intensive camp where they learned cheer basics, routines, chants, tumbling, and stunts which culminated to a final cheer camp showcase that was open to family and friends. While the squads worked with professional cheerleaders and staff, the cheer coaches received training on coaching basics, safety, and the UIL Spirit competition.
