Three Dallas ISD schools nominated for National Blue Ribbon honors
0Three Dallas ISD schools are among only 26 in Texas nominated for the 2020 National Blue Ribbon School award. Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy, Dr. Wright L. Lassiter Early College High School, and Edward Titche Elementary School are the district nominees. The U.S. Department of Education awards the Blue Ribbon recognition to schools where students perform at very high levels or where exemplary progress is being made toward closing achievement gaps. Free children’s books, parent workshops and more during the 2020 African American Read-In!
0We encourage all Dallas ISD elementary students and their families to attend the 2020 African American Read-In on Saturday, Feb. 22! The Racial Equity Office (REO) will host this cultural event in collaboration with three Dallas ISD trustees. The 2020 African American Read-In is set to take place at Justin F. Kimball High School on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each student will receive a free bag of books to build their home library, and school bus transportation and lunch will be provided for elementary school students.
