0Approximately 3,500 people took a big step toward finding their dream school at the Discover Dallas ISD school shopping experience held Nov. 2 at Adamson High School. Discover Dallas ISD featured representatives from more than 60 district schools that offer specialty programs such as magnets, Montessori, single-gender and collegiate academies. Grant will provide free mobile hotspots to students from six high schools
0A grant from The 1Million Project Foundation will provide mobile internet access for approximately 5,000 Dallas ISD high school students. Students at six high schools will receive a mobile LTE hotspot that can provide Wi-Fi access. 0The application period for Dallas ISD choice schools is now open through Jan. 31. Parents can learn more about the specialty schools offered in Dallas ISD by visiting www.dallasisd.org/yourchoices and choose the best school that fits the needs and interests of their child. In a continued effort to assist families with the application process, there will be a series of workshops in November and December at schools throughout the district. District leaders update trustees on the schools impacted by Oct. 20 storm
0When students from Edward Cary Middle School started class at Benjamin Franklin Middle School after their home campus was seriously damaged by the Oct. 20 tornado, the new classmates bonded together by discussing a critical topic: what should the school’s mascot be? Franklin Middle School’s mascot is the Falcons and Cary Middle School is the Colt.
