The event at The Statler Ballroom celebrated all of the outstanding finalists and educators in the district. 0Nurse Emily Geeslin, or “Nurse G” as her students call her, is passionate about bringing health promotion and disease prevention to North Dallas High School. Not only has she successfully pushed vaccination events, screened students for vision and hearing problems and provided emergency care to students in need, but she has also fostered community relationships that are transforming lives every day. Starting teacher salary of $60,000 and hiring incentives included in proposed 2022-2023 budget
0Dallas ISD’s proposed 2022-2023 budget includes an increase in the starting salaries for teachers who are new to the district in addition to thousands of dollars in hiring incentives. If the budget is approved, novice teachers who are new to the district would earn a starting salary of $60,000. The increase in base salary for new teachers combined with the $2,000 hiring incentive—available for both experienced and novice teachers —will help Dallas ISD be more competitive and overcome a national and state teacher shortage that has been made worse by the pandemic.
