Dallas ISD celebra el 50 aniversario del Día Nacional de los Enfermeros Escolares el 10 de mayo, para reconocer a los enfermeros de nuestras escuelas y promover una mejor comprensión del papel que desempeñan en la educación. Zelda Saxton ha sido enfermera en Obadiah Knight Elementary School desde hace 14 años, y dice que ha disfrutado cada momento. Dallas ISD is joining a 50-year celebration on May 10 that recognizes school nurses and promotes a better understanding of the role they play in education—National School Nurse Day. Zelda Saxton has been a school nurse at Obadiah Knight Elementary School for the past 14 years, and she said she has loved every moment of it. She previously worked in oncology and hematology units with a focus on cancer patients, so she said it wasn’t until she came to Dallas ISD that she fully understood the importance of supporting education. Last month, Emmett J. Conrad High School’s RoboChargers were crowned the UIL Robotics State Champions, after competing with 80 of the highest-ranked teams in Texas. The championship gave the team the opportunity to compete at the world level, and much joy, dedication, and motivation went into making it happen. FIRST has several levels of competitive robotics and several of the district’s teams have flourished at all levels with advances to regionals, state, and the World Championship. Jazmin Mier, instructional coordinator in the World Languages Department, is a citizen of the world. She has visited over 30 countries and uses this knowledge to help teachers in the district.
