Dallas ISD Youth and Family Centers are open this week to serve students for sick care visits. Any student who has symptoms including cough, fever, and/or respiratory issues can be served by the local Youth and Family Center clinic. Families with a student showing these symptoms are asked to call ahead and book an appointment at a center rather than sit in the waiting room. Trained medical professionals are at the Youth and Family Centers to assist sick students. Durante Spring Break, el Departamento de Alimentos y Nutrición Infantil (FCNS por sus siglas en inglés) de Dallas ISD está ofreciendo a estudiantes comidas gratuitas, para llevar, en 20 escuelas seleccionadas. Las comidas estarán disponibles para alumnos de hasta 18 años y estudiantes con discapacidad, sin importar la edad de éstos.  El desayuno se servirá de 9 a 9:30 a.m., y el almuerzo de 12:30 a 1 p.m., para llevar y comer en otro sitio. The Dallas ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services Department is currently scheduled to offer free meals at 20 select campuses over Spring Break. The meals are available for all students through age 18 and special needs students regardless of age. Students can pick up the meals from the participating schools and then eat them off site. As of 8:45 a.m. on March 13, Dallas County has eight presumptive coronavirus cases, none of which have a known connection to Dallas ISD. Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins announced a declaration of local disaster for public health emergency late on March 12. As a precautionary measure, any Dallas ISD school with more than 500 students on March 13 will serve lunch in the classrooms to avoid large groups from gathering together. Dallas ISD is committed to keeping families up to date with information on COVID-19, as we receive guidance from Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS).
