While this is an unprecedented time for Dallas ISD due to the COVID-19 closures, the Dallas ISD Special Education Department wants to ensure families remain healthy and receive the appropriate resources they need during this crisis. Para apoyar y brindar servicio a la comunidad de Dallas ISD durante estos tiempos complicados debido al COVID-19, Kraft Heinz Company anunció que donará 40,000 raciones de Pizza con Pepperoni Lunchables y Capri Sun. La compañía destacó la importancia de colaborar para garantizar que ningún estudiante se quede sin comida y reconoció los esfuerzos del distrito para alimentar a las familias. “Agradecemos a Kraft Heinz por su amable y generosa donación, así como por acercarse para apoyar a los estudiantes de Dallas ISD,” dijo Michael Rosenberger, director del Departamento de Servicios de Nutrición Infantil de Dallas ISD.

In order to help and service the Dallas ISD community during these challenging times due to COVID-19, the Kraft Heinz Company announced it is donating over 40,000 servings of Lunchables Pizza with Pepperoni and Capri Sun. The company highlighted the importance of working together to ensure that no student goes without a meal and recognized the district’s efforts to support feeding the families. “We thank Kraft Heinz for their kind and generous donation, as well as for stepping forward to support Dallas ISD students in these challenging times,” said Michael Rosenberger, Dallas ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services Executive Director.

Dallas ISD’s gifted/talented teachers spotlight their student projects for G/T Awareness Week held April 4–10. G/T Awareness Week was created to increase awareness and encourage support of gifted education in Texas. Dallas ISD students have been working hard all year to complete a rigorous project based learning curriculum.  Their projects include research, product creation, writing compositions, and presentations of their works. A. W. Blanton Elementary School has always promoted its main values — friendship, excellence, courage and knowledge – generating impact in the community.
