Since March 2020, the way teachers deliver instruction and the way students learn has fundamentally changed.  This year, rather than offering a single testing approach that would serve only some teachers and students well, a variety of testing options are being made available to campuses, reflecting the unique characteristics of each exam and preferences from AP teachers, coordinators, and school leaders. The Dallas Education Foundation received a $50,000 donation from Texas Rangers Hall of Famer Michael Young to restore the Reverchon Park Ball Field which will serve as the home field for the North Dallas High School Bulldogs baseball team. Many Dallas residents know Mr. Young as an immensely talented baseball player whose #10 jersey was retired by the Rangers in 2019. Spring is here again, and Dallas ISD is excited to offer Spring Break Meals to all children 18 years and under!  Twenty-two schools were strategically selected so that every student would have a school nearby to pick up meals. Schools will be open on Monday, March 15, from 11:00 am.–4:00 p.m., or until supplies last.  Schools will provide a week’s worth of meals valued at $80 per child.  Meals will include: seven breakfasts, seven lunches, five suppers and five snacks. NFL Play Football and New Era Cap Co. donated $10,000 to the Sunset High School football program! Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb surprised the football program with the news during a March 8 Zoom call. Atmos Energy and the Dallas Education Foundation have partnered to recognize the tireless efforts of the Dallas ISD Maintenance and Facilities essential team members for their work during the recent winter storms. The Dallas ISD STEM Health and Physical Education Department has officially launched the “Dallas ISD On the MOVE!” Physical Activity and Fitness Calendar Website.  This website was created to help promote the physical activity and fitness levels of all Dallas ISD students whether they are receiving face-to-face or remote learning opportunities.
