La Semana Nacional de Consejeros Escolares de 2022, patrocinada por la Asociación Americana de Consejeros Escolares, es del 7 al 11 de febrero y destaca el gran impacto que tienen los consejeros escolares en ayudar a los estudiantes a lograr el éxito escolar. Los 435 consejeros de Dallas ISD colaboran con los padres, maestros, administradores y demás personal del distrito para mejorar el desarrollo académico, profesional, social y emocional de los estudiantes. Los consejeros escolares son educadores certificados con una maestría en consejería escolar. Su formación y experiencia los convierte en una parte fundamental del programa educativo.

Todos los estudiantes de Dallas ISD de 6ᵒ a 12ᵒ grado tendrán la oportunidad de tomar cursos de honores en el año escolar 2022-2023. Los cursos disponibles son Inglés, Matemáticas, Ciencias y Ciencias Sociales. Las preparatorias pueden ofrecer cursos de honores adicionales.  Estos cursos animan a los estudiantes a colaborar con sus compañeros y a pensar de manera más crítica y creativa. Igualmente, crean una base sólida para los trabajos de nivel avanzado en la preparatoria y la universidad y tienen un mayor peso en el promedio académico (GPA) de los estudiantes. All Dallas ISD students who will be in grades 6-12 during the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to take Honors classes. Honors classes are available in English, math, science, and social studies. High school campuses may have additional Honors classes available.   These classes encourage students to work with their classmates and to think more critically and creatively. They also create a strong foundation for advanced coursework in high school and college. National School Counseling Week 2022, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, is February 7–11 and highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve school success. Dallas ISD’s 435 counselors partner with parents, teachers, administrators, and other district staff to enhance students’ academic, career, and social and emotional development. School counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master’s degree in school counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational program.

Two Dallas ISD schools are among 26 public schools in Texas nominated for the National Blue Ribbon, to be awarded in the fall. The School for the Talented and Gifted and the School of Science and Engineering, both at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center, are nominated for the ribbon, the highest honor an American school can achieve.
