It’s 4 p.m. at S.S. Conner Elementary School’s district-run afterschool program, and cheerleaders are pumping up a group of 70 students as they enjoy a healthy snack. Now with full bellies and high spirits, the students go into classrooms and center themselves with deep breathing exercises and social and emotional learning practices. On Oct. 22, 2021, Dallas ISD started accepting offers for the purchase of four district properties through two Request for Bids. The Request for Bid (RFB) packages are available on the Procurement Services Department webpage under the “Supplier Opportunities” link.  The properties for sale were declared surplus to the district’s needs by the Board of Trustees. La Agencia de Educación de Texas (TEA) y el Departamento de Servicios de Salud del Estado de Texas (DSHS) están lanzando un proyecto nuevo de pruebas de COVID-19 para lo que resta del año escolar. Dallas ISD está preparando el material de prueba y capacitará a quienes las administrarán en las próximas semanas. No se administrarán pruebas a los estudiantes y el personal hasta que concluya la transición. Por el momento, puede hacerse la prueba en una farmacia CVS o en el sitio de pruebas de Parkland Hospital, ubicado en Ellis Davis.
