At the end of January, 20 schools competed in the Region XII Academic Decathlon. Of those participating campuses, School of Science and Engineering and School for the Talented & Gifted received the highest team points in their respective divisions: medium and small. A partir del año escolar 2022-2023, los estudiantes de las escuelas de la zona del Instituto de Profesiones Sur podrán inscribirse en cuatro cursos virtuales nuevos, Estadísticas AP, Historia Mundial AP, Alemán e Italiano.  Los estudiantes que cursen estas clases lo harán en su propia escuela pero trabajarán de manera virtual con estudiantes de otras escuelas del distrito. Starting in the 2022-2023 school year, students from campuses that feed into the Career Institute South can enroll in four new virtual courses–AP Statistics, AP World History, German, and Italian.  Students who take these classes will stay on their own campus but work virtually with students from campuses throughout the district.  These new virtual classes will be available to high school students attending Adamson, Carter, Kimball, Molina, Pinkston, Roosevelt, South Oak Cliff, Sunset, and Wilmer-Hutchins.  For more information about these virtual courses, watch this video. Due to anticipated inclement weather, all Dallas ISD schools and administrative offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3 and Friday, Feb. 4. Schools will not be expected to make up these days.
