There was much to celebrate at College Signing Day at the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet at Townview on Friday, May 13. The school jumped 11 spots in the most recent US News and World Report high school rankings, making the Law Magnet the 48th best public high school in the nation with a rank of sixth in the State.  Principal Garet Feimster referenced the honor during his remarks and told his seniors and their families, “This is your accomplishment. Tyrese Maxey, a professional NBA player and guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, visited James Madison High School on Thursday to talk to the school’s basketball team about life after high school. The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (REC) and VEX Robotics, the leading provider of educational and competitive robotics products, recognized Dallas ISD with the 2022 Partner of the Year award. Representatives from the District’s Computer Science & Technology Department accepted the award during the VEX Robotics World Championship opening ceremony on Tuesday, May 10th. More than 20,000 students from 49 states and 36 countries, and their custom-built robots, competed in timed matches at the 2022 VEX Robotics World Championship last week. White represents District 4, which includes parts of southeast Dallas, Pleasant Grove, Balch Springs and Seagoville.
