Dallas ISD is gearing up to celebrate National School Lunch Week.
Happening from Oct. 13-17, the week will highlight the importance of healthy school lunches to a student’s success in and out of the classroom.
The theme is “Taste the World: Your School Lunch Passport,” and cafeterias across the district will bring the celebration to life with themed dress-up days and celebrate the diversity of global cuisines.
In addition to special menus, schools will host educational activities that emphasize the importance of Texas agriculture, spotlighting the farmers, crops, and local products that make their way into student meals. These events spotlight healthy eating, but also strengthen connections between classrooms, cafeterias, and the communities that support them.
