    Cuatro estudiantes de Dallas ISD califican para concurso de debate y beca de $15,000

    Gracias a la colaboración entre el empresario filantrópico Roland G. Parrish y Dallas Urban Debate Alliance, cuatro estudiantes de Dallas ISD calificaron para competir en el debate público de The Parrish Charitable Foundation.

    Los cuatro estudiantes seleccionados entre los mejores oradores de The Parrish Charitable Foundation se enfrentarán en un debate público en abril. El tema del debate público es el siguiente: El robo de señales ha sido parte de la rica historia del béisbol, nuestro pasatiempo nacional, durante más de un siglo, sin penalización. Ahora que estamos en la era digital y electrónica, ¿deberían los jugadores, el mánager y el entrenador sufrir penalizaciones o castigos, como multas, suspensiones, despido, etc., por usar la tecnología de hoy en día?

    Los estudiantes que calificaron para representar cuatro preparatorias de Dallas ISD son:

    • Olivia Northcutt-Wyly (School of Science and Engineering)
    • Asya Taylor (Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet)
    • Francesca Gilbard (School for the Talented and Gifted)
    • Josué Cabrera (Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy)

    Los cuatro competidores recibirán becas por un total de $15,000. El equipo ganador compartirá $10,000, dejando $5,000 para los dos finalistas. Los premios permanecerán en un fideicomiso de Bank of America hasta que los estudiantes se gradúen de la preparatoria.
