Thirty-six students from five Dallas ISD high schools took a private charter jet to the Johnson Space Center in Houston as part of Tribute to Valor’s Character and STEM Education program.

The STEM-Liner Experience participants engaged in interactive sessions held at Space Center Houston and NASA Johnson Space Center. Students learned from engineers, astronauts, pilots and STEM professionals about STEM careers, character development and leadership. The trip was designed to spark students’ curiosity and imaginations.

The five participating high schools were selected based on their industry partnerships with Microsoft and American Airlines, or their STEM aviation or character development and leadership focus. The participating schools were:

  • South Oak Cliff High School
  • W.H. Adamson High School
  • Skyline High School
  • Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy
  • Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School

The weekend kicked off with a STEM-Liner Experience Banquet attended by sponsor representatives from Tribute to Valor, Microsoft, American Airlines and Envoy at the Sheraton DFW Airport Hotel
