Eighteen students from four Dallas ISD high schools accepted scholarships totaling nearly $100,000 to visit other countries this summer to study as part of the CIEE High School Summer Abroad Program.

More than 70 district students began applications for the program, and 22 were accepted into the Global Navigator Scholarship program, which Dallas ISD helped pioneer.

The program focuses on language proficiency, local interactions and intentional reflection by sending students to countries all over the world. The purpose is to encourage and prepare students to connect and communicate across cultures and make positive impacts on today’s global/local society.
