24 district teams head to Destination Imagination state tournament

Dallas ISD will send 24 teams to the Destination Imagination State Tournament set for April 7-9 in Lubbock.

According to the Destination Imagination website, the program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem-solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament.

  • Nathan Adams
  • H.B. Gonzalez
  • Arthur Kramer
  • Urban Park

  • Gilbert Cuellar
  • William B. Travis
  • Seagoville North
  • Rosemont Elementary
  • James Hogg

Secondary teams:

  • School for the Talented & Gifted
  • Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School
  • Bryan Adams High School
  • Francisco Medrano
  • Dealey/Long/Travis
  • Judge Barefoot Sanders Magnet Center for Public Service: Government, Law & Law Enforcement
  • William B. Travis
  • Rosemont Middle

Winning teams will advance from state to the Global Finals set for May 24-27 in Knoxville, Tenn.
