Going digital 

A Cirque du Soleil performer visited deaf and hearing-impaired students at Marcus Elementary to show how hands can be used to communicate beyond sign language. (See photos)

Art project to remember

Art students at Thomas Jefferson High School drew portraits of 60 Bolivian orphans as part of the Memory Project. (Learn more)

Graduation schedule

Dallas ISD released the schedule for commencement ceremonies for each high school. (See the schedule)

Fun with financial literacy

Dee-1, a rapper who went viral with his song about paying off his student loans, visited Gill Elementary and Martinez Leaning Center to talk with students about financial literacy in a fun and engaging way. (Read this)

Read to Succeed

As part of a Read to Succeed Book Fair at Hernandez Elementary, KPMG donated multiple books to students and talked with older classrooms about how they use math in their jobs. (Read this)

Woodrow student teaches coding

Helena, a junior at Woodrow Wilson High School, volunteers to teach a computer coding class once a week at Mt. Auburn Elementary School. (Read this)

STAAR stars

Reilly Elementary filmed a fun music video to show off how ready they were for this week’s STAAR exams. (See the video)
