AVID National Demonstration School

A. Maceo Smith New Tech High School became the first Dallas ISD high school to be named an AVID National Demonstration School. The AVID program helps make students college and career ready. (Learn more)

Spring Break Meal Program

Twenty-five of our schools will serve a free morning snack and lunch over Spring Break, Monday–Thursday. Anyone who is 18 and under can show up to any of these schools for the meal. (Learn more)

Learning comes alive

Anne Frank Elementary students impressed parents and faculty alike at the school’s GT Research Fair. (Read this)

Mayoral recognition

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings recognized Preston Hollow Elementary at a recent UNICEF gala for helping raise money for a water filtration system for a small village in Africa. (Read this)

Youth Art Month

Move over Picasso: great artwork from about 800 Dallas ISD elementary students was showcased in an exhibit at the African American History museum as part of Youth Art Month. (Read this)

National School Breakfast Week
