Want to know more about what’s going on at Dallas ISD’s two new choice schools? Your chance to visit and check them out is just around the corner. The Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship (IDEA) Academy at James W. Fannin and the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Middle School at D.A. Hulcy will hold formal opening ceremonies this month.
The Office of Transformation and Innovation invites the community and district staff to attend the IDEA school ribbon-cutting from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 4800 Ross Ave. The event will feature Principal Sarah Ritsema discussing the opening weeks at the new school and students talking about their work and experience on this first-of-its-kind Dallas ISD campus.
The invitation is also extended to the ribbon-cutting for the STEAM Middle School scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 9339 S. Polk St. Principal Jonica Crowder-Lockwood will share the experience of opening the new school and visitors are welcome to talk with the school’s first class of trailblazing sixth-graders about their new learning environment.
