Proposed bond projects for District 4

With the Nov. 3 election less than a month away, The Hub is breaking down how proceeds from the proposed $1.6 billion bond, which is not expected to raise tax rates, could impact each of Dallas ISD’s nine trustee districts.

Please note: All bond projects, project amounts, and program allocations are estimates, and could change in the future. This is a guide to District 4.

New elementary school

Proceeds from the bond are anticipated to fund the construction of a new elementary school in District 4 to serve as a relief school for Edward Titche and Annie Webb Blanton elementary schools. The school’s location is yet to be determined

56 new classrooms

Proceeds from the bond are anticipated to fund the construction of 56 new classrooms at four District 4 schools. The proposed schools are

  • 12 classrooms at Central Elementary (Seagoville Feeder Pattern)
  • 8 classrooms at Seagoville High School (Seagoville Feeder Pattern)
  • 16 classrooms at Julius Dorsey Elementary (H. Grady Spruce Feeder Pattern)
  • 20 classrooms at B.H. Macon Elementary (H. Grady Spruce Feeder Pattern)

New educational programs

Proceeds from the bond are anticipated to expand the career and technology education (CTE) at H. Grady Spruce High School.

Examples of CTE programs are:

  • Culinary arts
  • Information technology
  • Health sciences
  • Hospitality/tourism

If the CTE program is expanded at Spruce, the district would work with the community to determine which CTE program would work best.

Facility improvements

Proceeds from the proposed bond are anticipated to fund facility improvements at almost every school in District 4. Improvements include windows/doors, roofs, HVAC, and plumbing.

Election Day is Nov. 3
