Dallas ISD employees are adding their support to efforts to discover a cure for breast cancer by participating in the Denim Day for a Cure fundraiser benefiting the organization Susan G. Komen for the Cure. On Oct. 24, staff members will join thousands around the country in making cash donations and wearing pink and/or denim in support of breast cancer awareness.
Employee donations will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which will use the proceeds to help provide life-saving screenings in the form of low-cost or free mammograms, diagnostic testing and breast cancer treatment to uninsured or underinsured Dallas County residents. The foundation also provides support services before, during and after breast-cancer treatment, and invests in groundbreaking cancer research.
