WFAA-TV Channel 8 spent a few moments with members of the Sunset High School Bisonettes drill team, as they turn to the community to help raise funds for an upcoming performance in Hawaii. The 27 member squad has been invited to perform during the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade, Dec. 7. See view that broadcast, click here. The Bisonette’s have set up a GoFundMe account that any one may donate toward. The team needs to raise $50,000 in order to perform and represent the only school from Texas in the parade. Spurred by a strong response from the community, the Dallas Independent School District will extend the deadline for its Public School Choice Community Survey through midnight Wednesday, Nov. 12. More than 3,000 responses have been received in the last month about potential choice schools and programs through a survey offered by the Dallas Independent School District. Meanwhile, the district is gearing up for its next big push toward opening 35 additional public choice schools and programs by 2020. Knowing how to respond when bullying happens is key to ensuring all students are able to learn and grow.
