We are excited to announce that Dallas ISD Pre-K registration goes live on Saturday, April 1, for the 2023-2024 school year. The Early Learning department is sponsoring the third annual Pre-K Pop-up Registration events throughout the district to support our families and communities with registration. Families will receive face-to-face support with online registration, and community partners can provide additional services such as CHIP, WIC and SNAP/TANF. Pre-K Pop-up Registration Events will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on select Saturdays during April and May. Dallas Hybrid Preparatory is making Dallas ISD history and held its first ever “signing day” to celebrate the founding eighth-grade class. This is the start of the school’s end-of-year celebrations and 20 Hybrid Prep students made their commitment to attend district high schools for the next year. Every Friday during lunchtime, Café 9400 in the Linus D. Wright Administration Building is providing free samples of food being served in cafeterias across the district. Recently, team members sampled Dallas ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services’ (FCNS) cheesy taco pasta recipe. Dallas ISD employees at the administration building were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of foods being served in school cafeterias. Many expressed their excitement, saying they would like to see the same recipes served at Café 9400 for central team members. “It’s comfort food and it’s actually really tasty. Several Dallas ISD students will spend part of the Spring Break competing in the UIL Cross-Examination Debate State Meet at the University of Texas at Austin. By placing first or second in their respective UIL CX Debate District meets, 12 students from Jefferson, Law Magnet, Samuell, Skyline, and TAG high schools will travel to Austin on March 16 to compete in the UIL state competition, one of the largest debate tournaments in the United States.
