The spotlight continues to shine on the Sunset High School Robo*Flash, and for good reason. As far as anyone can determine, it is the first robotics team comprised solely of students with special needs. The group was recognized as trailblazers by Dallas ISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa and the Board of Trustees during the April 28 board meeting. The high-spirited team captured the audience with their inspirational story and fun-loving camaraderie. Volunteers from City Year and AT&T this week completed a service project at H. Grady Spruce High School. Volunteer helped build two outdoor classrooms and some picnic tables in the large courtyard and painted murals in the performing arts hallway. Other projects included painting bulletin boards that student groups will utilize next year to broadcast their projects, achievements and news.
