Trustee Jaime Resendez is leading the charge to make District 4 an outstanding team. Elected to the board in May of 2016, this graduate of Skyline High School represents Southeast Dallas, Seagoville and Balch Springs. Resendez is a U.S. Army combat veteran and attorney licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas and before the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas. The Dallas Cowboys face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in a divisional playoff. Besides cheering for the hometown team, Skyline High School Principal Janice Lombardi wants to avoid becoming a Cheesehead for a day. Lombardi has a friendly wager with Rod Bohm, the principal of Southwest High School in the Green Bay Area Public School District. If the Cowboys win, Bohm will wear a cowboy hat possibly along with silver and blue. In the off chance the Packers win, Lombardi will don a Cheesehead hat and wear green and gold. LL Hotchkiss Elementary School recently held a successful canned food drive. Students led the food drive that collected a total of 1,534 pounds of canned food, which will provide access to 1,278 meals for chronically hungry children, families and seniors in need in North Texas.

Trustee Dan Micciche’s efforts in education began well before serving on the Board of Trustees. Micciche spent several years leading a community partnership with James Fannin Elementary School and continues to drive his all-star District 3, which includes Northeast Dallas.
