The Dallas Independent School District’s (Dallas ISD) Multiple Careers Magnet Center (MCMC) is hosting its annual Spring Plant Sale, Wednesday, April 19, and Thursday, April 20. For 21 years, Dallas ISD has been in partnership with the Dallas County Master Gardener Association, Inc., which helps run the magnet school’s garden. The plant sale is open to the public. Students at MCMC who help maintain the greenhouse garden will benefit from the fundraiser that will help purchase various garden supplies. MCMC serves students with special needs. More than 80 fourth-graders and their teachers from Mata Montessori school visited the Capitol in Austin last Thursday, thanks to an almost $3,000 grant from the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) that provided transportation. The fourth-graders started the day with a scavenger hunt on the Capitol grounds, then toured the Capitol building. In the afternoon, various elected officials and dignitaries took time to meet with the fourth-graders. Sen. The National School Boards Association’s (NSBA) Technology Leadership Network (TLN) has named Roland Antoine, Deputy Chief Technology Officer for Dallas ISD, as one of its “20 to Watch” honorees for 2016-2017. The W. H. Adamson High School Alumni Association will hold its 17th annual All-Class Reunion at the school on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Located at 309 E. Ninth in the Oak Cliff, Adamson High School is the oldest continuously-active high school in Dallas ISD. On Friday, April 28, the Adamson Alumni 2017 Charity Golf Classic is scheduled at the Golf Club of Dallas, 2201 W. Red Bird Lane.
