Dallas ISD offices will be closed the week of July 3 in observance of the July 4th holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, July 10. Free summer meals for youth up to age 18 will be served some of the days next week at select district sites. Find locations and schedules via this link. Space Camp students were making lunar landing models on Tuesday at T.G. Terry Elementary School. The weeklong camp featured age-appropriate, interactive opportunities for learning about space exploration. Each lesson inspires students with an out-of-this-world experience through applications of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees elected its officers on Thursday, June 22. Dan Micciche (District 3) will serve as Board President; Edwin Flores (District 1) is First Vice President; Joyce Foreman (District 6) is Second Vice President; and Audrey Pinkerton (District 7) is Board Secretary. Trustees Miguel Solis (District 8) and Foreman won re-election to their seats in May. Trustee Dustin Marshall (District 2) won re-election after a runoff election in June. The officers were selected after Marshall was sworn in on Thursday.
