As part of its annual STEM Virtual Expo, which will take place on Jan. 23, 2021, Dallas ISD has partnered with Dimension U, an esports for education company, to organize the virtual 2021 Math Olympiad Esports STEM Tournament. This platform is a curriculum-based, multiplayer video game where students in grades three through nine compete with others in one of three game worlds by solving math questions correctly. Schools across the district are honoring individual mentors and tutors, faith-based partners, businesses and nonprofits for making a difference in the lives of students at the campus level. The team in Volunteer and Partnership Services selected the 2019-2020 honorees  from among dozens nominated by their partner schools in the following categories in recognition of their generosity and service to individual campuses. During last night’s board meeting, Dallas ISD honored volunteers and partners, considered the most outstanding of the year, for a broad range of service and donations to schools and the district in the 2019-2020 school year. The traditional in-person awards program was postponed last May due to the COVID-19 crisis. The Succeeding Together Industry Partner Award winner went to the Dallas office of Accenture, a multinational professional services company. The award recognizes Accenture for outstanding service to Dallas ISD’s collegiate academies, including support to the staff and students of Seagoville P-TECH.
