Dallas ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services (FCNS) is grateful for the partnership with Tyson Foods for the donation of much-needed tents for curbside meal service. The inclement weather in February ripped multiple tents used for curbside meal service. After making several previous donations, Tyson recently donated 24 tents and five flags to assist FCNS. Curbside meal distribution continues to be available every Wednesday from 4:30–6:30 p.m. with an additional pickup time of 10 a.m.–12 p.m. for high school specific curbside locations.  Meals are served at schools throughout the district. A leadership educational model coming to Julius Dorsey Elementary School next school year will expand innovative learning options for students in that community. “We are excited about the opportunity to provide the Pleasant Grove community with a great innovation school in their neighborhood,” said Principal Rubinna Sanchez. Dorsey Elementary, a neighborhood campus, will be an innovation school under the district’s Public School Choice initiative. The Dallas ISD Special Education Department is excited to announce the upcoming Special Education Transition Fair 2021, taking place April 13–15 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. each day.
