The girls’ volleyball team and members of the debate team at Lang Middle School challenge themselves to a different type of victory. They were selected by Tajuana Brewster, Volleyball Coach and Teacher at Lang to participate in a Girls Inc. afterschool program funded by the Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) Department to learn more about themselves and the world around them. The Special Education Department is excited to announce the Super Parent Academy event on Wednesday, May 19th. This past school year has been one of many challenges and has changed the way students communicate and interact in the classroom. Sam Hooper, one of Dallas ISD’s seven students participating in this year’s UIL Academic State Meet, won first place in the 4A Computer Science category. The student at School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center was also part of the school’s Computer Science Team, which won first place at state. Dallas ISD had seven students who qualified to compete at the UIL Academic State Meet that happened April 30 and May 1.
