VIDEO: Distinguished Teacher Review places spotlight on effective teachers
0This week, approximately 1,400 Dallas ISD teachers will be invited to submit an application and undergo the Distinguished Teacher Review process. In order to be eligible, teachers must meet certain requirements and undergo a review of their leadership, lifelong learning, contributions to the profession and quality of instruction. Applications are due Jan. 22, 2015. Between January and May, applications will be reviewed and two- to three-person teams will conduct a 45-minute observation to assess the candidate’s quality of instruction. 0The Dallas Independent School District is casting its net in search of talented and effective teachers. A team from Dallas ISD’s Human Capital Management department in traveling to Puerto Rico in search of talent, including candidates with bilingual background. Interviews will be held from Dec. 4-7 at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Casino in Isla Verde. USDA awards grant to promote locally raised food
0The Dallas Independent School District has been awarded a $100,000 Farm to School grant by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The grant will help support continued efforts to encourage kids to eat more fruits and vegetables, add more school gardens, and increase working with the farming community to provide more locally grown products. Under the grant, the district will expand and build upon our existing Harvest of the Month promotional activities, taste tests, distribution of fresh produce at schools and other activities which promote the benefits of locally grown products.
