STAAR campus test coordinators get a helping hand
0As students this week take the STAAR exam, campus test coordinators have a new resource—five, to be exact—to help the process go as smooth as possible. Dallas ISD this year has five new districtwide testing coordinators who are on call to help the campus test coordinators at every school. Four district schools ranked in top 24 urban schools in country
0The National Center for Urban School Transformation has named four Dallas ISD schools as ranking among the highest performing 24 urban schools in the country. Jimmie Tyler Brashear Elementary School, John Q. Adams Elementary School, Walnut Hill Elementary School, and John J. Pershing Elementary School are recipients of the 2015 National Excellence in Urban Education Award. The schools will be formally recognized at the Excellence in Urban Education National Symposium being held May 21–22 at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Dallas. Dallas ISD teachers chime in on student perception survey (video)
0As the Teacher Excellence Initiative continues to become the standard for the way Dallas ISD evaluates how effective a teacher is, one key piece in understanding a teacher’s effectiveness are the students in their classrooms. Fifteen percent of a teacher’s annual evaluation will be derived from their student perception surveys, which are being administered to students in grades 3–12 during the week of April 6–10.
