Board approves student achievement goals to ‘drive the district forward’
0Trustees approved the adoption of six new student achievement goals that Superintendent Michael Hinojosa says will be the catalyst that drives the district forward. Trustees and Hinojosa developed the proposed achievement goals after reviewing district results and holding multiple workshops. Hinojosa said most of the proposed goals have key performance indicators. The goals are: Goal 1: All students will exhibit Satisfactory or above performance on State assessments. Trustees approve mandatory recess at all elementary schools
0All elementary schools are now required to offer daily recess for students in preK–fifth grade following a policy change approved by trustees last week. The policy change requires elementary schools for the rest of the school year to offer at least 20 minutes of daily recess for all students. Starting next school year, elementary schools will be required to offer at least 30 minutes of daily recess. Record number of Dallas ISD counseling programs receive state award
0A record number of Dallas ISD schools have received a statewide award that recognizes great work happening in school counseling programs. Twenty-six Dallas ISD schools this month received a Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) Award.
