0The number of career certifications received by Dallas ISD students has increased by more than 3,500 percent since 2009–2010, and students like Damian, a senior at W.H. Adamson High School, are benefiting. Damian is in Adamson High School’s automotive technology program and plans to become a Porsche Master Technician. Nick Cannon launches student entrepreneur competition at Conrad High School
0The Nick Cannon Foundation, in collaboration with Dallas ISD’s Career and Technical Education Program and JPMorgan Chase and Co., have announced the launch of a new competition for Dallas youth called “America’s Teen Mogul (ATM) Summit and Student Business Plan Competition.” Cannon announced the launch of the competition on Monday, Oct. 10, at Conrad High School. Piedmont G.L.O.B.A.L. Academy celebrates a new name and academic focus (video)
0The answer to the question, “What’s in a name?” depends on who you’re asking. In the case of students at the newly named Piedmont G.L.O.B.A.L. Academy, the answer is “a lot.” Students and community members in the Piedmont neighborhood in Pleasant Grove gathered at the former John B. Hood Middle School on Oct. 6 to celebrate the school’s new name and academic focus. The celebration was the culmination of more than six months of effort.
