0Thousands of families attended the Discover Dallas ISD Fair on Saturday to see the wide range of education choices available to students. The first-ever event featured representatives from all 228 district schools showcasing the innovative programs and opportunities offered within Dallas ISD. Governor invites Dallas ISD teacher to be part of education discussion
0Dallas ISD teacher Eric Hale will share his perspective on education as one of 12 Texas teachers to meet Dec. 13 in Austin with Gov. Greg Abbott and members of an education task force. The roundtable discussion will include the teachers’ thoughts about recruiting and retaining effective teachers, but also cover other topics. Hale, a third-grade math teacher at David G. Burnet Elementary School, himself struggled his first year as an educator, but has since become one of the district’s Top 100 teachers. Proposed 2017-2018 calendar options available for review and feedback
0Parents, students and community members are invited to provide input on several elements of Dallas ISD’s 2017-2018 instructional calendar. Two draft calendars featuring several variable options are available for review, comment and a vote. The options include the dates of winter break, bad weather make up days and teacher professional development on non-school days when students attend the State Fair of Texas.
