Early learning team presses the pavement for pre-K (video)
0Members of Dallas ISD’s early learning team, staff, and volunteers took to the streets on Friday, March 31, to let people know in person about available pre-K opportunities in the district. The teams went door-to-door in Dallas neighborhoods to tell residents about the critical importance of high quality pre-K, and how a parent could register their 3- or 4-year-old. Dallas ISD offers pre-K for free to qualifying families. The district also offers paid pre-K this year families that don’t meet certain eligibility requirements. More than 60 seniors to each receive $2,500 Superintendent’s Scholarship
0More than 60 Dallas ISD seniors will each receive $2,500 scholarships to help make college a reality. The district awards the Superintendent’s Scholarship based on a student’s character, academic achievement and community service. Meanwhile, three other Dallas ISD seniors have received $10,000 scholarships funded by the Sulentic Family Foundation, and a top student-athlete has earned the $5,000 Eric Louis Brown Scholarship. Also, the Superintendent’s Scholar with the top GPA will receive an additional $1,500 scholarship from the family of the late trustee Joe May. 0Dallas ISD is holding a teacher job fair from 9 a.m.–noon on Saturday, April 8, at Ellis Davis Field House. Attendees must register to attend, and the registration period is still open.
