Students from Anne Frank Elementary School and Skyline High School played a big role in the groundbreaking for the new Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum that is scheduled to open in summer 2019. Dallas ISD’s Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise department (M/WBE) is spearheading a free contractor networking event from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at the Dallas County Schools Technology and Training Center, 5151 Samuell Blvd. The “In the Mix” networker is being held to promote strategic partnerships between general and subcontractors that can lead to opportunities to participate in the district’s $1.6 billion bond program. Making Music: Band brings students together at Garcia Middle School

Here’s some music for your ears: About 375 students are participating in band this school year at Hector Garcia Middle School, which is up from the 160 students who participated last year and 80 students the year before. Dallas ISD is aiming to get all students to participate in at least one extracurricular activity.
