Accomplished professionals give job insights to eleventh-graders
0More than 100 eleventh-graders who are pursuing an English endorsement got an inside look at possible future careers at a career panel held at Southern Methodist University. The Dallas ISD Reading Language Arts Department hosted the career panel that featured six notable professionals in the Dallas area. “This was a valuable opportunity because the students got to ask questions and learn from these accomplished professionals about these different types of jobs,” Dallas ISD Assistant Superintendent Vince Reyes said. NAF graduation ceremony honored more than 400 seniors
0On Tuesday, April 18, the Career Education and Workforce Partnerships Department hosted the Dallas ISD NAF Senior Recognition Ceremony. The ceremony honored seniors who have completed a program of study in a NAF academy and demonstrated academic excellence in Dallas ISD’s Career and Technical Education programs. The event recognized more than 400 students representing high schools across the district. The Dallas ISD NAF program supports students in their pursuit towards college or career. 0National Kindergarten Day is Friday, April 21, and it’s a chance to celebrate how Dallas ISD kindergarten prepares students for lifelong success. Dallas ISD pre-K registration kicked off earlier this month, and thousands of families have already signed their child up. Robotics teams from six schools headed to World Championships this week
0Robotics teams from six Dallas ISD schools are competing in World Championship competitions this month! These four schools are competing in the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship being held April 22–25 in Kentucky: Winnetka Elementary School (has two teams competing) Sanger Elementary School Casa View Elementary School Gaston Middle School Meanwhile, Conrad High School is participating in the FRC Robotics Championship and Sunset High School is participating in the FTC Robotics Championship.
