Partnership with neighborhood nonprofit brings great summer camp to Dunbar
0Dallas ISD has partnered with Frazier Revitalization, a neighborhood-based nonprofit, to bring a successful summer camp to Paul L. Dunbar Learning Center. The six-week camp is focused on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), a growing priority across Dallas ISD. Students start each camp day discussing a different SEL concept before moving onto activities that require them to talk with and respect each other. Two Dallas ISD musicians receive prestigious scholarships
0Fine Arts Chamber Players (FACP) has announced that two recent Dallas ISD graduates are the recipients of the first annual Rogene Russell Scholarship Fund. Quinn Mason, an award-winning composer who graduated from North Dallas High school in 2015, and Kenoly Kadia, a pianist who graduated from David W. Carter High school in 2017, are the scholarship recipients. “I am very honored and grateful to receive this generous gift, as I could not have paid the tuition myself,” said Mason. “I am hoping that this college education will allow me to provide a comfortable living for myself, and allow me to provide for my…

Three district employees nominees for LifeChanger of the Year Award
0Three Dallas ISD educators are among 17 in Texas nominated for the national 2017-2018 LifeChanger of the Year Award. National Life Group has sponsored and coordinated the award since 2006. Multiple awards are distributed each year among nominees from the 50 states and the District of Columbia. One Grand Prize Winner will split a $10,000 prize with his or her school.
