District accepts student nominations for Gifted and Talented Program

Dallas ISD is accepting nominations for students to be screened for the Gifted and Talented Program through Sept. 15. Parents, guardians and community members may nominate students for consideration. A student can also nominate themselves. Information packets are available at the local campus from the Gifted and Talented Program teacher,  or AP/GT Manager. Dallas ISD accepts items for students displaced by Hurricane Harvey

As Dallas ISD continues to lend a helping hand to families displaced by Hurricane Harvey who are now arriving in the City of Dallas, the district is collecting donations of uniforms, school supplies and backpacks for students expected to enroll in district schools. Donations may be dropped off at Dallas ISD’s Education Center, 9400 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75231, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. today through Friday, Sept. 8 (with the exception of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 4). Dallas ISD committed to serving any students impacted by Hurricane Harvey

In response to the challenges created by Hurricane Harvey, Dallas ISD is committed to serving any students from Houston and the surrounding areas. Students from the Houston area are expected to start enrolling in Dallas ISD schools. Dallas ISD campuses will immediately enroll these students who will be staying with family, friends, in shelters and hotels. Campus administrators will work with these families to secure uniforms. Students will be enrolled in the appropriate grade based on the information provided by the family.
