The Holdsworth Center, an educational leadership institute, selects Cedar Hill, Dallas and Garland ISDs for five-year partnership
0Three North Texas school districts in Texas have been chosen to partner with The Holdsworth Center, a nonprofit organization founded by H-E-B Chairman Charles Butt. Cedar Hill, Dallas and Garland ISDs have been selected for a five-year, $18 million strategic partnership that helps districts grow their own bench of strong, skilled leaders who create conditions in which teachers thrive and all students get what they need to succeed. 0Champions for children, each in their unique fashion, these nine educators demonstrate the characteristics of knowledge, caring, devotion and professionalism that define the word “teacher.” One from each category will be named Dallas ISD Teacher of the Year in a televised announcement on May 3. Cheryl Nevels: 25 years advocating for Dallas children
0A deep desire to advocate for children, a family legacy in education, and a lifetime of support in the classroom and at home are a few attributes which led Cheryl Nevels to join Dallas ISD almost 25 years ago. Cheryl started her distinguished career as a teacher within a struggling community, where she received recognition for consistently prioritizing her students. See the Dallas ISD 2021–2022 school year calendars
0There are three different Dallas ISD 2021-2022 school year calendars. The majority of campuses will have a base calendar, where school starts Aug. 16 and ends May 27. See the base calendar here. Forty-one schools will have an intersession calendar, where school starts Aug. 9 and ends June 23. This creates time for five additional intersession weeks spread throughout the year.
